A Brief History
Welcome to West Michigan New Horizons Music Ensembles. Our WMNHME organization is a member of the New Horizons International Music Association (NHIMA). Founded in Grand Rapids in 1999 with just 13 members, WMNHME grew rapidly and currently numbers nearly 100 musicians in six different ensembles. We are a non profit organization which performs formal concerts as well as outreach programs for schools and retirement or nursing homes. WMNHME believes music is a way of making vital connections to life.

The Board
WMNHME is presided over by a volunteer Board. The Board is the governing body whose primary duty is to facilitate the creation of music and to provide music education for adults of all ages. For such a large and active organization, many committees are needed for fundraising, website updating, marketing, and the like. New Board members are suggested and chosen by the Director and current Board members for three year terms. Three seats open annually in the spring. Interested WMNHME members may contact a Board member at any time to indicate their interest. Please consider serving WMNHME as a Board member.
