Dr. Nancy Summers-Meeusen
Dr. Nancy Summers-Meeusen began her tenure as Music Director of West Michigan New Horizons Music Ensembles in 2001. In addition to her work with New Horizons, Nancy holds the position of Principal Oboe in the St. Louis Municipal Opera Theatre Orchestra. She created and serves as Artistic Director of the annual Winter Solstice Celebration in Grand Rapids and has also conducted at Interlochen Center for the Arts and at New Horizons Music Camp at Chautauqua (NY). She also directs the handbell choir at Grandville (MI) United Methodist Church. Nancy was past Principal Oboe in the West Michigan Symphony. A founding member of The Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis, Nancy serves as principal guest conductor. The Orchestra debuted in the fall of 2012. Nancy earned her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Michigan.
