Dr. Nancy Summers
The Power of music. The Love of sharing.
The Joy of creating.
These three items form the basis of our work together in West Michigan New Horizons Music Ensembles. As an adult-based organization, we meet weekly to rehearse music of many different styles, with attention to the ways in which we learn. We provide opportunities for beginning students of music and support a graduated system of levels for those who expect more challenging musical experiences. As Music Director, it is my privilege to serve as head of this fine group of people, to interact with them, to ask them to strive to improve their lives as individuals within an ensemble setting. Why don’t you join us?
Dr. Nancy Summers began her tenure as Music Director of West Michigan New Horizons Music Ensembles in 2001. She created and serves as Artistic Director of the annual Winter Solstice Celebration in Grand Rapids and plays in the Civic Theatre Orchestra and other local theatre settings. Nancy was past Principal Oboe in the West Michigan Symphony and earned her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from The University of Michigan.
