Ransom Street Big Band plays all the swing band standards, including some of the more recent arrangements on the popular charts, such as, “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.” This invitation-only group is dedicated to the performance and study of music from the era of the Big Band.
The members enjoy sharing Big Band music with outreach performances for various organizations ranging from Camp Bluebird to local retirement communities.
Ransom Street Big Band rehearses on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 3215 4 Mile Rd. at East Beltline, Grand Rapids, MI
Membership in this group is by invitation of the Music Director only.
