Music For Life

If you are looking for a supportive and fun environment in which to play your wind, brass, string or percussion instrument, even if you haven't touched it since middle school, come join the West Michigan New Horizons Music Ensembles.  New Horizons Music programs provide entry points to music making for adults, including those with no musical experience at all, and also those who were active in school music programs but have been inactive for a long time.

Our groups rehearse at the Plymouth United Church of Christ, located at 4010 Kalamazoo Avenue, in Grand Rapids, MI.  We have six groups at this time:

Intermediate/Advanced Concert Band:         Monday     9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Beginner Concert Band:                                        Monday     1:00 - 2:45 p.m.
String Orchestra:                                                       Monday      3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Swing Band:                                    Thursday   9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Beginner Lessons                               Thursday 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.                                   Beginner Swing Band                              Thursday 1:00 -  2:30 p.m.

In addition to rehearsals and concerts, our groups play outreach programs at schools and nursing/retirement homes, where music is most needed.
